The time perspective characteristics with various strategies in a situation of a personal choice

The research materials the purpose of which was to determine the time perspective characteristics of the examinees with various strategies in a situation of a personal choice are presented in this article. Choice situations in the family, interpersonal and professional sphere were considered. During research four groups of the examinees differing with peculiarities of perception of the situation of a personal choice have been distinguished, namely, functional-dual, optimum, research and disturbing. The hypothesis that strategy of the examinees in the situation of a personal choice is determined by characteristics of their time perspective is tested. As a result of research it is revealed that time perspective of people with functionally effective strategy is extended, structured and realistic. The time perspective of people with optimum strategy is not extended and structured, and objects are located at the nearer period of time. People with research strategy locate objects in medium-term perspective the non-structure of their time perspective. People with disturbing strategy have not extended, unstructured time perspective.
