The time and the word in Brodsky's poetry

The article presents linguistic description of one of the peculiarities characterizing the philosophic and aesthetic system of J. Brodsky. The central category in this analysis is Time, which, in discord with the traditional view, is not a blending of statics and dynamics, but is characterized in his poetry only by dynamics, being an irresistible and destructive power for the Universe and the Human being. The only thing to oppose this power, according to Brodsky, is the Language, the Word.
