Transformational leadership is often considered a desirable management style and has a positive impact on the productivity of many employees; however, its effectiveness is questionable due to the relative disregard of its negative aspects. To bridge this gap, it is important to try to rethink the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. The perspective of distortion lies in the fact that the positive and negative consequences of contradictory transformational leadership can coexist, which creates an opportunity and rationality for employees to carefully consider the performance of their tasks under the influence of a change of leadership. Combining the principle of marginal utility reduction and the effect of "excessive benefit (Scha)", this study examines the relationship of forms of reverse spirit between change management and employee performance.
