“I have always kept vivid memories of Fr. Joftn...”. Report of arcftbisftop Micftael (Mudyugin) to his holiness patriarcft Alexey II on the cane of St. Joftn of Kronstadt

On June 26, 1990, Archbishop Michael (Mudyugin) of Vologda and Veliky Ustyug (1912-2000) sent a report to Patriarch Alexey II of Moscow and All Russia, informing him that he had a cane at his disposal, which until 1903 belonged to Archpriest John of Kronstadt, glorified on June 8, 1990, by a Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church. The publication of this report makes it possible to shed light on a little known chapters in the life of Archbishop Michael - his relationship with his confessor during the time he occupied the Astrakhan see, his relationship to St. John of Kronstadt, and the nature of his correspondence with Patriarch Alexey II.
