The paper analyzes “universal responsiveness” in Akhmatova's lyrics: her ability to empathise with nations that were engaged in the unjust wars. Akhmatova concentrates attention on the tragedy of the common people in her anti-war lyrics. The most striking motif is death of a child. These trends are typical both for poems that were written as response to the Second World War and for the poem “Koreya v ogne”.
