"Everything in life is a counterpoint…" (the neglected scherzo of Glinka)

Бесплатный доступ

What secrets does the Glinka's work keep and why its main name, Scherzo, is neglected although the author had eventually removed the common "Valse fantaisie"to the brackets? To what extent the work can be connected to the private life of the composer who is not considered as a very open-hearted man in his music? What another outmusical motive might make him create such a tragic composition? What can an unprepared listener hear in "Valse-fantaisie" and what does one need to know for listening it with "historical ear" (M. Aranovsky)? What could the counterpoint imply in this work? Due to the recent discoveries in history made by S.L. Abramovich the author managed to find a key to the understanding of the hidden programme of Scherzo (Valse-fantaisie) which was devoted to A.S. Pushkin.
