Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is now considered a General medical problem, not just a nephrological one. Renal replacement therapy with hemodialysis and kidney transplantation are considered complementary end-stage CKD treatments. In CKD, a decrease in the number of functioning nephrons causes a cascade of complications, including vitamin D deficiency, hyperphosphatemia, decreased absorption of calcium from the gastrointestinal tract, increased parathyroid hormone (PTH) synthesis, hypertrophy, and parathyroid cell hyperplasia. Since the clinical manifestations of disorders of phosphorus-calcium metabolism depend on the duration of the history of renal failure and in connection with the difficulties of treatment of already developed osteodystrophy, the most urgent is the prevention of violations in the initial lesions of renal function.
