The article presents the results of a study on the development of a competency model for IT specialists. They were obtained as part of one of the stages of training for employees of HR departments. The relevance of developing the competencies of IT specialists related to personal effectiveness and social contacts is revealed. It has been established that in modern conditions they will be more often used in practice, in contrast to the competency models of IT specialists related to their thinking abilities, verbal competencies, and logical thinking. The stages, methods and tools used by the participants of the training are described. The competencies chosen by the training participants were compared with the Spencer competency model. It made it possible to identify clusters of competency indicators. The expediency of using the competency model of IT-specialists in order to significantly increase them within the framework of the informational structural component of the development of the human capital of enterprises is substantiated. Directions for further work on the competency model of IT-specialists are proposed.
