Economic development is the driving force of active and passive processes and changes, and provides social progress. This is a movement that creates systemic transformations both within the framework of the world, national and regional economies, creating the necessary conditions for the growth of all components of reproducing the economic and social system. One of the most important of these components is the entrepreneurial structure, which forms the foundation for successful regional development, is the main priority for improving the socioeconomic development of the country. Entrepreneurship is a source of sustainable economic growth, stability of society and employment in the country, directly affects the increase in the level and quality of life of the population. Modern economic development is based on the active development of the business environment. World and domestic practice show that state and regional support is a prerequisite for the successful functioning of business entities. The study analyzes the definition of entrepreneurship and examines the essence of support for entrepreneurship as a process of sequential measures on the part of participants in economic relations, united by a network of ties in order to meet their needs and aimed at its effective development. The authors identify the comprehensive support for the business sector, which is based on support mechanisms and highlight the role of infrastructural support of entrepreneurial activity.
