The key aspects of the helpline consultant’s work are considered, as well as strategies for overcoming specifi c diffi culties associated with this format of psychological assistance. The results of the survey are presented, refl ecting the preferences of subscribers according to the consultant’s voice characteristics. The original survey data of 40 respondents are presented, which showed that a calm, even tone and clear diction are the priority characteristics of a consultant’s voice to establish trust. The necessity of targeted training of telephone service specialists is substantiated. Practical recommendations on the voice training of consultants have been developed to improve the eff ectiveness of their interaction with subscribers.
