In conditions of the Altai territory conducted a study on the cultivation of bull-calves Simmental breed in the suckling period. A distinctive feature of the experience was that calves grown on milk short period able to consume the maximum amount of plant feed. The article describes the results of studies on the reduction of milk period to 60 days and the introduction in the diet milk replacer to reduce consumption of milk. Studied conditions of feeding, maintenance, growth and meat productivity and economical-LIC efficiency of growing bulls of the Simmental breed to 5-month who-age. Under the same conditions bulls grown to 120, 90 and 60 days dairy period consumed the same number of milk feeds, but different number of plant. As a General feed consumption the highest number of food-out of units consumed animals of the 2nd experimental group 485.6, which is 6.4% more con trolen, 1-I, respectively, exceeded the control by 3.2% (471.3 food. units). Bulls of the 1st experimental group had higher live weight of the control and 5.3%, and 2 - 11.7%, respectively. At age 5 months live weight was in the 1st group 145.3 kg in the 2nd - 153.3, and in control - 137.1 kg, average daily gain - 772, 812, 712 and g, respectively. Relative growth rate of bulls 1st and 2nd experiences-tion groups were superior to the control at 5.5 and 5.1%. Carcasses of steers 1st and 2nd groups. were heavier at 6.3 and 8.3% of the control, more carcass yield in animals of the 2nd and the 1st experimental groups - at 1.85 and 1.71%. The duration of the milk period, which influenced the General development of animals, also affected the weight of the pair of skins and their sizes. Weight steam the skins of calves of the 1st group exceeded the weight of the skins (11,89 kg) counterparts in the control group 3.4%, 2nd - 18.1% (13.58 kg). Area of the skins in the 1st group amounted to 100.6, and a 2-y - 102.3% relative to the control. Nai-lower cost of feed was the bulls 2nd experimental group and 3.9 food. units, less than control by 7.2%. The profitability of growing dairy calves in a shortened period of 26.9 and 33.6% with the advantages of the-society of animals of the 2nd and 1st groups.
