The article "Realization of Orthodox ideology in A.F.Pisemskiy's novel "V vodovorote (In a Maelstrom)" analyzes the problem of Pisemskiy world view with regard to his personal identity and manifested in his specific artistic manner/style/method - "realism of outlook". While defining the genre of Pisemskiy's work as a "mild" variant of antinihilistic novel, the author of the article refers to the central personages in order to find out WHAT exactly is set against by Pisemskiy to a "vortex" of Russian post-reform life.
