The article discusses the importance of soybean being a unique plant with a number of valuable properties and a complex of nutrients for human nutrition. The soybean seeds contain a sufficient amount of balanced and easily digestible protein, vegetable oil, a diversity of sugars and carbohydrates, as well as basic vitamins and minerals. Amino acids composition of soybean protein is closed to the animals. The crop is widely used in the food, feed, technical, medical, pharmaceutical and beauty industries. Soybean is a great accumulation of nitrogen, a great fore crop for winter cereals and other crops. The introduction of soybeans in different types of crop rotations contributes not only to the accumulation of nitrogen, but also to the improvement of agrophysical, biological and agrochemical properties of the soil.
