Variety of spring rapeseed with high oil content Granit

A variety of spring rapeseed Granit was developed at Siberian experimental station of VNIIMK (Omsk region, Isilkul), with the participation of breeders from VNIIMK (Krasnodar), by the method of multiple individually-family selection from a hybrid population «Hanna × No 6378». Granit is early variety, ripens in 85-92 days, erucic acid free, with low glucosinolate content (type “00”). The variety has high oil content in the seeds - 49.5-50.7%, that is higher on 1.5-2.0% compared to the standard variety, this allows increasing of edible oil yield per hectar. According to the competitive trials of the Siberian experimental station of VNIIMK for 2008-2010, the variety Granit exceeded the standard variety Yubileyny on seeds yield on 0.20 t per ha and oil yield on 130 kg per ha, and glucosinolates content in its oil is 4.3 mmol per g lower. This variety is listed into the State Variety register and approved for the production in Western Siberian (10) region from 2016.
