Top-rated schools of St. Petersburg: criteria of research selection and data sources

The article analyses the primary data in the methods of sociological survey and collection of data available in the Internet. The survey is conducted by case study of the top-rated schools of St. Petersburg. The author considers the following characteristics of the initial empirical files: uniqueness, structuredness, "biasedness", and a type of data updating.
