High-tech and (or) virtual criminal proceedings: concepts, standards, perspectives

Бесплатный доступ

The author draws attention to the fact that modern information technology opens up new opportunities in the processing, transmission, receipt, storage, systematization and use of information in the legal fields, including criminal proceedings, allowing the formation of evidence in electronic form. In this regard, all criminal procedural activity at the present stage of the development of society is becoming more and more technological. The author justifies that the transition to high-tech criminal proceedings will require a radical restructuring of the entire system, including procedures for action and decision-making, data protection, verification and evaluation of evidence provided electronically. Admittedly, dramatic changes to the entire system are inevitable, and lawyers and citizens must be prepared for them. At the same time, changes should not reduce the feeling of security in the sphere of criminal proceedings.
