High-rise buildings and crime: the influence of the architectural environment on the criminogenic situation

The article considers the question of whether the environment created by high-rise buildings is a deviantogenic factor. The most famous examples of the negative impact of high-rise residential spaces on their inhabitants are briefly studied, the opinions of architects, sociologists and urbanists are analyzed and the clear consequences of the influence are highlighted. The study of the problem is important both for the study of the causes of crime in general, and for the conceptual rethinking of many issues of modern Russian urban planning.
