Challenges for crop production in the region depending on the natural-agricultural zoning (on materials of Novosibirsk region)

The purpose of this study is to group challenges for the plant growing industry of the Novosibirsk Region depending on natural-agricultural zoning. This is due to the high level of differentiation of the territory of the region according to the climatic and agro-ecological conditions for the implementation of crop production. For each of the regions, it is necessary to determine those areas of scientific and technological development that will reduce the industry's dependence on these conditions. Technology is the answer to the challenges facing the region. The article defines local challenges for plant growing in the Novosibirsk Region, which are divided into 6 groups: agroecological, technological, climatic, agrobiological, economic and social. Also, in accordance with the natural-agricultural zoning of the territory of the region, the agro-ecological challenges specific to each region are presented. As a result, it was revealed that in the West Siberian province of the southern taiga-forest zone there is a problem of water logging and water logging of soils, in the West Siberian province of the forest-steppe zone with soil salinity and poor biological reclamation, in the North-Pre-Altai province of the forest-steppe zone there is water erosion and strong ruggedness of the relief, in the West Siberian (Kazakhstan) province of the steppe zone - wind erosion and tinned solonetzic soils. The research results are key for the strategic planning system in the Novosibirsk region, as it provides an opportunity to focus resources on several areas of research and development that are most important for agriculture in the region, which will allow the industry to switch to a new technological structure, and thereby increase production efficiency and product quality plant growing.
