Introduction: modern universities play a key role in the development of the innovative economy, going beyond traditional educational and scientific functions. Their interaction with industrial enterprises has become a necessary condition for the accelerated commercialization of scientific developments and technological progress. However, in practice, there are barriers in the integration of science and industry, which requires the development of new mechanisms for the interaction between innovative infrastructures of universities and industrial enterprises within a single ecosystem. Objectives: to develop theoretical and methodological provisions and justify the mechanism for the interaction of innovative infrastructures of universities and industrial enterprises from the perspective of the ecosystem approach. Methods: systematization, generalization, comparative and structural-functional analysis. Results: the article justifies the application of the ecosystem approach to the sustainable interaction of innovative infrastructures of universities and industrial enterprises. The key mechanisms for the interaction between universities and industrial enterprises are defined, based on the creation of sustainable science-industry alliances, technology transfer, joint R&D, and entrepreneurial initiatives. A new approach to the interaction of innovative structures of universities and industrial enterprises within a cluster, based on the deep integration of science and production into a single innovation ecosystem, is proposed. The competitive advantages of the cluster approach, ensuring the effective commercialization of innovations and the development of high-tech industries, are identified. Conclusions: the development of cluster structures and ecosystem interactions between universities and industrial enterprises is becoming a driver of innovation development and technological progress. The proposed mechanism for the integration of science and business contributes to closing the gap between research and its practical application, forming a coherent innovation value chain. The approaches developed can serve as a foundation for improving government policies in the field of scientific-technological development and industrial modernization.
