The article deals with the simultaneous operation of several educational paradigms in the field of the research activities of students. The importance of the research work of students as an integral part of specialists' training in higher vocational education is stressed. The author considers the mutually supportive value of the elements of cognitive, information, competence and personality-oriented educational paradigms for the effective organization of students' research activities in the higher school.
