The interaction of government, science and business in the management of fish resources was considered. The use of fish resources, on the one hand, provides food and income to the population, and, on the other hand, many types of fish resources are under excessive anthropogenic impact. The use of bioeconomic models in the management of fish resources using the example of the European Union is shown to ensure long-term use of resources. The use of such models makes it possible to take into account the environmental, economic and social effects of taking control measures. The analysis of management of fish resources of the Russian Federation on the basis of biological and economic measures is carried out. A direction is proposed for improving the management of fish resources on the basis of socio-ecological and economic models developed for fishery basins, taking into account the influence of management measures on fish resources, economic activity and the welfare of the population.
