Interaction between the university and employers to improve the quality of training essential graduates

Employment of university graduates is largely determined by the interaction of the university with employers. Taking into account the requirements of employers for graduates helps to improve the quality of their training and demand in the labor market. It is important to take into account the opinions of graduates who can already assess the quality of theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired at the university in practice. The article analyzes satisfaction of employers and graduates with the quality of training of graduates of the Institute of Economics of the National Research Mordovia State University. The study revealed such strengths of graduates as the relevance of theoretical knowledge, compliance of theoretical knowledge with qualifications, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in professional activities. Employers noted the desired competencies necessary for the effective work of graduates: knowledge of modern information technologies, analytical skills, ability to work in a team and communication skills. Among personal qualities, they recommend cultivating stress resistance, initiative, and the ability to take responsibility. An assessment of graduates’ satisfaction with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills they acquired during their studies at the university was also given. They noted the need to strengthen practical training both during industrial practices and in seminars.
