Interrelation between aggressiveness and psychological well-being among the law enforcement officers

The article examines the problem of increased aggressiveness of law enforcement officers in the context of the subjective level of psychological well-being of the individual. The relevance of studying these phenomena in law enforcement agencies is determined by the specifics of their professional activities and the prevalence of such problems as increased aggressiveness and professional burnout in this area. The psychological well-being of employees is the basis of the overall resource potential and the ability to withstand negative influences and stressful factors. The article analyzes the main theoretical approaches to the study of aggressiveness and psychological well-being, presents the results of an empirical study. The following methods were used: A. Buss — A. Durkee Hostility Inventory in the adaptation of A. A. Khvan, Yu. A. Z aitsev a nd Yu. A. Kuznetsova, the scale of psychological well-being of K. Riff in the adaptation of T. D. Shevelenkova and T. P. Fesenko. According to the results of the correlation analysis, it was possible to establish an inverse relationship between the phenomena: the higher the level of psychological well-being, the less aggressiveness of the individual. The results of the study can be useful to a psychologist in dealing with problems of increased aggressiveness, conflict, professional burnout and deformation.
