Relationship of functional indicators and sports results in racing skiers

The process of training skiers for many years is very complex and dynamic. At present, thanks to the efforts of the practice of skiing and the data of scientific research, it was possible to develop a fairly complete and objective model characteristic (in all its constituent parts) that characterizes the skier-racer. The purpose of our study was to identify the influence of the functional indicators of skiers-racers on sports results. To achieve the goal of the study, we have solved the following tasks: 1. Determination of functional indicators of skiers-racers. 2. Analysis of the influence of functional indicators of skiers-racers on sports results. To solve this goal, we tested the participants in the study and analyzed documentary materials (competition protocols). To determine the functional indicators of the studied skiers-racers, the following tests were carried out: Genchi's test, Shtange's test, determination of MOC (maximum oxygen consumption), VC (vital capacity of the lungs), heart rate at rest and at maximum power. According to the results of the study, we can make the following conclusion that the relationship between the functional indicator of skiers-racers and the sports results shown by them is very strong, although many factors can influence the result during the competition. The presence of such a relationship indicates that anaerobic performance affects athletic performance in cross-country skiing.
