Interrelation of suicidal proposition with coping strategies in youth

The article analyzes the relationship between suicidal tendencies and coping strategies in young people. The study sample consisted of 63 respondents, sophomore university and college students, with an average age of 19 years. Coping behavior (R. Lazarus), a tendency to suicidal reactions (P.I. Yunatskevich) and suicidal risk (A.G. Shmelev) of the respondents were diagnosed, and a correlation analysis of the results was carried out. The interrelation of the propensity to suicidal behavior with manifestations of demonstrativeness, inconsistency, formation of the temporal perspective, with such coping strategies as self-control and avoidance was revealed.
