Introduction. The article examines the problem of children’s social intelligence as a factor determining the quality of their life. The aim of the study is to identify the relationship between the formation of social intelligence in primary school children and self-assessment of the physical, emotional, social and school components of the quality of life. Materials and Methods. Systematic and socio-cultural approaches were used as the methodological basis of the research. The main research methods are theoretical (analysis, comparison, generalization, systematization) and empirical methods, including testing (the TROMSO scale of social intelligence modified by A. D. Inheritance and V. Y. Semenov, the PedsQLtm4.0 Quality of Life questionnaire), as well as methods of statistical data processing (general statistics and correlation analysis). 89 3rd grade students participated in the study. Results. The authors of the article analyzed and summarized the research of Russian and international scholars on social intelligence and children’s self-assessment of the quality of life. Based on the results of an empirical study, the relationship of social skills and social awareness with various components of self-assessment of the quality of life among primary schoolchildren has been established. Conclusions. The study concludes that the relationship between the formation of social intelligence in primary school children and self-assessment of the physical, emotional, social and school components of quality of life was established, which is illustrated by statistically significant correlations between these indicators.
