The article is devoted to the consideration of various approaches to the study of leadership styles. Based on the theory of "Situational leadership" P. Hersey and K. Blanchard, the relationship between leadership styles and forms of motivation is shown. With each style, the most effective way of motivating an employee is suggested. And the development of the KRI system is an effective tool for the formation of a material system of motivation.
