The paper presents the results of studying the breast cancer incidence among female population in Southern areas of Siberian Federal District during 1991-2005. The study included the region of Irkutsk and republics of Tyva, Khakassia and Altai. The population differed with respect to social and medical demographic characteristics. The breast cancer was the most common female malignancy in all above areas. The standardized incidence rates per 100,000 ranged from 26,0 in the Tyva republic to 41,2 in the Irkutsk region. Increased rates of breast cancer incidence were registered in regions with high urbanization level, being the highest in women of Slavonic nationality. It is estimated that breast cancer incidence rates will continue to be increased in all above areas.
