Riddle of the ending of the poem “Twelve” (dvenadtcat) by A. A. Blok

The article is devoted to the mystery of the ending of the poem “Twelve” by Blok. We consider the image of Christ in the poem; we analyzed the well-known points of view and made an attempt to provide a new one. Also, the poem is regarded as a prophecy about the fate of Russia in the twentieth century. We prove that Blok predicted the major events in the history of Russia in the twentieth century, that influenced the spiritual and moral state of the society. The article concludes that the main idea of the poem is the idea of transfiguration.
