The capture of the Taman fortress by Don and Zaporozhye Cossacks in the context of the Russian-Polish war of 1654-1667

The article deals with the sea campaign of Don and Zaporozhye Cossacks to the lands of the Crimean Khanate and the Ottoman Empire during the Russian-Polish war of 1654-1667. The author describes in details the actions of Cossacks during the campaign and the reasons of the Taman fortress capture in 1655. The consequences of the sea raid of Cossacks are discussed.
