Legislative support of gender equality in the Kyrgyz Republic

Research relevance is the role of NGOs contribution and women’s movement of Kyrgyzstan in the expansion and strengthening of national legislation to achieve gender equality. Research objectives: to analyze the legislative framework for ensuring gender equality in Kyrgyzstan, which was formed in the post-Soviet period during the years of independence. Materials and research methods: article analyzes in detail the Constitution norms in the Kyrgyz Republic, adopted laws, ratified international conventions and National Action Plans to achieve gender equality in chronological order. It also describes main ideas and concepts, changes that have occurred in connection with Kyrgyzstan society social life. Research results: insufficient participation of women in decision-making processes affects the country gender image. Conclusions: legislative framework analysis for ensuring the gender equality in Kyrgyzstan shows that women's movement and gender experts in Kyrgyzstan have done a lot in this direction.
