Legislative regulation of participation in elections of dummy candidates

The paper analyzes the concept of «dummy candidate». The tactics of abuse of passive suffrage when nominating such candidates are considered. The controversial points of legislation that allow such manipulative technologies are being studied. It is concluded that it is necessary to establish restrictions when putting forward spoilers, i.e. dummy candidates with namesakes. Separate electoral systems are considered, which deprive the effectiveness of the tactics of nominating dummy candidates. In particular, it is proposed to use the experience of foreign countries using the alternative vote system.
