Legislative initiatives in the sphere of drug trafficking control

The article compares the two regulatory legal acts: Draft Federal Law “Concerning Federal Drug Control Service of Russia" submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and the Presidential Decree “Issues of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia" (Decree №976), on the basis of which the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia is currently functioning. The comparison has allowed the author to draw some conclusions regarding the initiatives aimed at the empowerment of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service with certain authorities and to assume the main difficulties in the implementation of the proposed regulation.
