Growth regularities of Pinus sylvestris L. With different forms of seed scales apophysis on the areal northern border of European Russia

A comparative evaluation of the main morphometric parameters of trees are made and there were revealed the chronological regularities of radial growth of Pinus sylvestris L.forms, selected according to the type of seed scales apophysis cones in pine shrub-sphagnum in the lower reaches of Mezen river. It was analyzed the temporal dynamics of radial growth of these forms. It was found that the sample of 130-140-year-old trees with a «convex» shape apophysis seed scales ( f. gibba Christ) significantly (by 11%) exceed the height of a tree trunk with a «flat» form of the apophysis seed scales (f. plana Christ.) is superior to the height of a tree trunk with a «flat» form of the apophysis ( f. plana Christ.).
