Consolidation of the principles of organization and activities of local self-government bodies in the constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic

Local self-government of the Kyrgyz Republic since its inception as such has undergone many changes in the legal status, powers and responsibilities. Each forthcoming change in the legal status of the municipal government was accompanied by prerequisites for changes in the Basic Law of Kyrgyzstan. The Constitution, being the primary source of fixing the legal norms governing relations within the country, as well as the rules of conduct in the international arena, contains the basic, general norms, including the norms and principles governing legal relations at the local level. This article discusses some principles of organizing the activities of local self-government, enshrined in the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic.
