Problem and purpose. At present, the features of running technique are well studied in the field of high performance sport. The problem of the formation of the correct rational running technique and studying its characteristics among people who do not engage in sports is especially relevant. It is assumed that the process of mastering the technique of Nordic walking forms the correct rational technique of running, based on the correct setting of the foot on the support, rational biomechanical indicators of walking and running. It is also assumed that the presented research results will make it possible to understand the features of biomechanical indicators of the running technique among people who do not engage in sports, depending on their physical development and gender. The purpose of this article is to substantiate the positive impact of Nordic walking on the formation of the optimal running technique for students. Methodology. The main research methods were pedagogical experiment and two-dimensional video analysis. For statistical processing of the data obtained, the mathematical statistics methods calculated in the Exсel program were used. Results. The article has revealed a positive influence of Nordic walking on the formation of the correct rational running technique. In particular, the angle of flexion in а knee and hip joints of boys and girls has increased, which makes it possible to actively repel and, accordingly, reduce the time of contact with the support. The angle of the trunk bending of the young men at the vertical moment decreased and became within the norm, the girls’ one decreased and significantly approached the norm. The angle of placing the feet on the support of the boys and girls became normal. The angle of the elbow crease of the young men was as close as possible to the norm. The young men demonstrated the average biomechanical performance of the running technique higher than that of the girls, and accordingly closer to the limits of the indicators of the rational running technique. This is due to anatomical differences in the structure of the musculoskeletal system, especially the bones and joints of the pelvis. Conclusion. The formation of the rational running technique with the help of Nordic walking was effective and allowed improving some biomechanical indicators of the running technique at a reliable level. The presented data and the results of the research provide the basis for the use of Nordic walking as a means of forming the rational running technique.
