The Zaposel'ye dwelling site in Perm region

A.M. Belavin and N.B. Krylasova in the paper The Zaposel'ye dwelling site in Perm region present the preliminary results of the investigation the sites near the Chashkinskoe Lake. In the area between the cities of Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm region) situated on the side of the Chashkinskoe Lake around twenty archaeological sites of different age are known dating back from the Mesolithic to the Middle Ages. In the discussed region many dwelling sites of production character are located. The paper discussed the results of investigations carried out at the open dwelling site of Zaposel'ye I investigated on the high eastern side of the Chashkinskoe Lake. Of special interest is the dwelling constructed of vertical posts, which is a unique one in the Perm Ural region. The collection of finds originating from the site relates it relation to Lomovatovo and Rodanovo archaeological cultures and suggests the site's chronology from the 7th to the 13th cc.
