The article analyzes the utopian works of Thomas More, Tommaso Campanella, and Francis Bacon. The ideas put forward by these philosophers regarding the content and organization of education and upbringing continue to be relevant and in demand in modern pedagogy. Utopian texts are viewed as a space for criticizing existing social institutions and constructing a desired future. The author highlights the essential features of utopia and demonstrates the diversity of classifications of utopian works. The pedagogical principles of the authors of utopias, such as practice-oriented learning, individual approach to students, visual presentation of educational material, combination of theoretical training with elements of independent research activities, focus on developing a harmoniously developed personality, and universal education, were significantly ahead of their time and contributed to the development of modern humanistic pedagogy.
