Protection and representation in criminal proceedings of persons with disabilities: comparative legal aspects

The article raises issues related to the protection and representation of the interests of such persons in the context of the problem of the lack of regulation of ensuring the proper participation of persons with disabilities in Russian criminal proceedings. Persons with disabilities are understood as participants in criminal proceedings who, due to their physical and (or) cognitive problems, find themselves in an unequal position compared to other participants in the ability to exercise their procedural rights and perform procedural duties.
