The article analyzes the legal framework in the field of protecting the rights of crime victims in the criminal law of Turkey. Crimes violate the rights of victims, which require special protection from the state. Against the background of the development of procedural guarant ees for suspects and accused, the protection of crime victims often remains in the background. The article focuses on the provisions of the criminal law of Turkey, which reflect the protection of the rights of crime victims. The author notes the role of the provisions of the Istanbul Convention of 2011 in protecting the rights of crime victims in Turkey. Attention is paid to the institution of secondary victimization of a crime victim, when the rights of the victim are violated already during the investigation of a criminal case. For example, a victim, suffering a violation of his rights from a crime, is faced with an illegal refusal to initiate a criminal case. The article also analyzes preventive measures to protect the rights of crime victims in Turkey and the practice of their application.
