The Mongolian accentor Prunella kozlowi przewalski, 1887 - a new species for the territory of Russian Federation
A discovery of Mongolian Accentor Prunella kozlowi Przewalski, 1887, a new species for the territory of Russian Federation is reported. An adult (but apparently non-breeding) male was collected on 31 of May 2010 near Tore-Khol lake, in southern part of Tuva Republic. Taking into account bird's drab appearance it could be a more regular visitor to Russian territory and even irregular breeding of the species can't be excluded.
