The dependence of the dynamics of the evoked bioelectrical activity and the morphological characteristics of the muscles of the leg on the type of surgery for its experimental lengthening

The effect of leg bone osteotomy in the diaphyseal middle third using a chisel with 0,7-cm width of blade, made from two lateral cuts 1,0 cm each (6 cases) and flexion osteoclasia of leg bones at the same level on the condition of leg muscles was compared in 11 adult mongrel dogs. Type of surgery was of no significant effect upon the muscles during distraction, however, by the end of fixation and after the distraction device removal there was a tendency towards more rapid recovery of muscular M-responses in the animals subjected to osteotomy.
