Dependence of growth and carboxyl esterase activity in soil Gram-negative bacteria of genus Pseudomonas on concentration of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus sources was analyzed. It was determined that carboxyl esterase activity in cultures under study possessed high level of constitutive expression. Under high glucose concentrations (over 1%) growth suppression and lowering of the esterase activity was observed. It was found that carboxyl esterase activity in P. fluorescens cultures approached 10 mmol/mg/min under the optimal conditions.
