Surgical specimens from 392 patients with ages ranging from 28 to 80 years (median age 51.2 ± 10.4 years), with T2-4N0-2M0 unicentric infiltrating ductal breast cancer were investigated. The infiltrating component in primary tumor nodule was morphologically evaluated. The importance of relation of morphological patterns with lymphogemc metastasis was determined using the method of logistic regression. The independent prognostic factors of lymphogenic metastasis were qualitative parameters (morphologic pattern of the tumor) and quantitative parameters (the tumor size). The study results showed that the risk for developing lymphogenic metastasis was associated with morphological phenotype of the primary tumor nodule. Lymphogemc metastatic spread was found to be predicted better for patients who were untreated before surgery taking account the status of menstrual function.
