Dependence of the Growth of the Tourism Sector of the City of Sochi on the Development of the Construction Industry

The article considers the urgent problem of determining the relationship between the growth of tourism and the development of the construction industry in relation to one of the most important recreational tourist destinations in Russia – the city of Sochi. The purpose of the study within the framework of the article is to determine the dependence of the development of the tourism industry in Sochi on the development of the construction of tourist infrastructure in the city. The object of the study is the city of Sochi as a tourist destination, an urban agglomeration. The subject of the study is the tourist infrastructure of the city of Sochi. The indicators of the volume of investments in the development of tourism infrastructure and the implementation of construction work in various areas related to the development of tourism infrastructure in Sochi in 2019-2023, as well as indicators of the development of the tourism sector for the same period in the city are considered. Based on statistical data, a regression model of the dependence of tourist flow on the volume of construction work was constructed. A high degree of correlation between the studied variables was established, which confirms the importance of the development of construction infrastructure for stimulating tourist activity. The conducted analysis confirmed the existence of a stable positive relationship between the level of construction activity and the indicators of the tourism industry in Sochi. This allows us to state that investments in construction infrastructure not only contribute to short-term economic growth, but also form the basis for the long-term sustainability of the tourism sector. Municipal and regional authorities, based on the results obtained, can more effectively plan budget allocation and implementation of investment programs.
