The aim of the research was to study the seed setting at self-pollination and free flowering in sunflower lines of different origin. The research was carried out in 2022–2024 on the fields of the 2nd farm department of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research In-stitute of Oil Crops. Plants of 22 lines of sunflower breeding and genetic collection were studied: VK551, VK305, VK195, VK21-sur, RIL200, LD102, KG49, VK1-sur, VK1-klp, VK934, VK876, VK678, In Krupnyak, VK416, MVG-8, K2058, K1587, L2138, LG40/1, LG40/2, LG40/3, and LG40/4. Seed setting percentage was estimated as the ratio of filled seeds to the total number of tubular flowers in the head. The lowest seed setting percentage of 5% at self-pollination was observed in a line L2138 during 2022. A line VK1-klp showed the maximum autofertility rate of 60% in each year of the study. The minimum seed setting rate of 26% at free flowering was observed in a line VK195 in 2024. The maximum trait index of 84% was ob-served in 2024 in a line VK551. The correlation r = 0,49 was found between the traits seed setting at self-polli-nation and free flowering. As a result of the analysis of variance it was found that the genotype has the main impact on the studied traits.
