The recognized monuments of classicism architecture - the historical buildings of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy and Seminary - experienced a difficult period during the Great Patriotic War and the Siege of Leningrad. For almost the entire period of the war, they were occupied by the evacuation hospital No. 1170 (reception and distribution hospital No. 1) of the Leningrad Front. The sick and wounded soldiers and officers treated there visited the places of patriotic education of the defenders of the city, which were arranged in the closed churches of the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Laura. A number of hospital buildings were damaged by German bombing and artillery attacks, especially the former seminary building. But already in 1945, it was in it that theological education was revived in the “northern capital” of Russia. The article is prepared on the basis of archival documents and is of interest to all those interested in the history of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy.
