Schoolchildren’s health: trends and determining factors

The authors assert that it would be unfair to claim that nothing is being done for children’s health protection in our country. The real number of projects has increased (national project “Health”, project “School catering”, national project “Education”, regional targeted programmes, programme for health care modernisation). Still, analysis of the causes of children’s health decline shows that the present measures are not sufficient. It is necessary to carry on and improve the existing arrangements and to elaborate new ones, as well as to spread the positive experience gained in separate regions.
