Family health-preserving practices: a sociological analysis

The article examines the family as an actor of health-preserving practices in relation to children. The definition of health-preserving practices is given. It’s: the set of social actions that are carried out by individuals, social groups, organizations, institutions, are based on the principles of a healthy lifestyle and are aimed at maintaining and strengthening health. There are revealed their typology and functions in the family. Besides, the main problems of their implementation in the family are identified: most parents neglect health-promoting practices both for themselves and for their children. As a result, children do not have sufficient motivation for a healthy lifestyle.
