The author of the article reveals the measures taken by the state to improve the medical care of citizens. The example of the health care system in Kanevskiy, Kurganinskiy, Kavkazskiy, Krymskiy, and Slavyanskiy districts shows deeply the existing problems of medical care in Krasnodar Territory in the 1980s. The article dwells on the condition of the material and technical base of public health service in Krasnodar Territory in the 1980s and the measures were being taken to improve it. The author draws attention to the correlation between the poor development of medical care for citizens and a high percentage of disabled people, as a result of obtained injuries. The defects of the treatment and the increased level of disability are noted in connection with the weak application of physiotherapeutic methods of treatment. The study reviews the problem of unsatisfactory provision of health facilities system with foodstuff, and there is indicated the important role of caloric content of dishes in the therapeutic factor. The article deals with the actual for the Soviet period, the activity of creating a favorable moral and psychological climate at enterprises, institutions and organizations, the role of labor collectives in the fighting with bad habits for people's health - especially alcoholism and smoking. The author reveals the problems of the weak material and technical basis of medical institutions of Krasnodar Territory in the 1980s, the lack of workplaces, as well as the insufficient equipment of medical institutions by medical personnel. The article reveals the problems that exist in the system of Soviet public health service, the prevention of diseases, the continuance of public health and the prolongation of the active creative life of Soviet people, and the measures taken to solve them at the state level.
